Battle Courses are the courses you play on in battle mode. They have been in every Mario Kart game to date.

The mobile game Mario Kart Tour introduced battle courses as of the Battle Tour in October 2022. The game has 2 new battle courses derived from city courses, and 3 retro battle courses.

In Mario Kart World, there are 6 battle courses that take place on racetracks, as well as one nitro and retro battle course each (both of which can be found in Free Roam). Whilst none of the new courses have been remade, Wii Moo Moo Meadows was also used as a battle course in Mario Kart 8.

- Mario Kart DS is the only game to not include letters before it's retro battle courses saying which game it came from.
- Mario Kart 8 is so far the only game to include Battle Courses from the main game whilst including no new ones, this change was later revised in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, as its main content addition from the original game.
