Despite its status as a heavyweight kart, the Boo Pipes have traits that are similar to a lightweight kart: low top speed and high acceleration. However, it's heavier to outrival the Koopa King and the Piranha Pipes.
The Boo Pipes has a good acceleration stat, tying with both the Rattle Buggy and the Koopa Dasher, all three of which also share the same top speed.
Unlike most heavyweight karts, the Boo Pipes loses a little speed when going off-road.
The Boo Pipes, Piranha Pipes, Heart Coach, and Bloom Coach all share the same engine sound, which is used with Yoshi and Peach's karts from Mario Kart 64, albeit with a lower pitch.
