Bowser's Castle is a course from Mario Kart World, acting as the final course of the Lightning Cup in that game. It is set in the dark volcanic region in the northwest area of the island, with Dry Bones Burnout to the east, DS Airship Fortress to the southwest, N64 Wario Stadium to the south, Wii Toad's Factory to the southeast. Bowser's Castle marks several departures from past Bowser Castle tracks, with its more industrial, high-tech theme and its position as the final course in the penultimate cup (in this case the Lightning Cup) like Mario Kart 64's Bowser's Castle, rather than the penultimate course of the Special Cup (the final new cup in each game).
Layout[]
After the racers begin, they go down a straight road with two downward slopes, followed by a short split path section in a sexagon shape. After the paths rejoin, the racers go through a left turn with the road sloping left, followed by a right turn and then a left turn, followed by a Glide Panel Cannon. After the racers leave the cannon, they go through a wide right turn with Lava on each side, followed by a pair of jumps and then a left U-turn. The racers go through a second Glide Panel (this one on a regular Glide Panel ramp) that leads to a 240-degree right turn on two separate paths that follow similar routes, each ending with a Glider section that leads to the starting line.
If summoned with the new Kamek crystal ball, Kamek can use his magic to summon Thwomps, which are otherwise absent.
Routes[]
There are three different paths that lead into this track depending on the route.
- Traveling to Bowser's Castle from N64 Wario Stadium, N64 Choco Mountain, or Wii Toad's Factory, leads to the path leading here going through N64 Big Donut before traveling up either side of the base of the volcano.
- Racers who arrive from DS Airship Fortress only use the left side of the volcano base.
- Arrival from Dry Bones Burnout or the SNES Mario Circuit amalgamation only allows access from the right side of the volcano base.
