Cheep Cheep Island is the third track of the Lightning Cup in Mario Kart: Super Circuit. This track makes a retro appearance in Mario Kart Tour as of the Summer Tour. It is the sequel to Shy Guy Beach.
It's background looks like there are some farms on a nearby land (they might, but probably not, be Moo Moo Farm) and there are many Cheep Cheeps swimming.
Layout[]
Mario Kart: Super Circuit[]
The track starts by going straight over a bridge that leads to a left turn with grass on each side. The turn leads into another bridge that slightly curves to the right, then left. Past the bridge is a split path with coins on each side and grass in the middle, which leads to another bridge. After that, there is a turn to the left and two more split paths. The player can take the left side which has Dash Panels, or the right side which has more coins. There is another bridge with a left turn. Past that is another bridge with another left turn. After another bridge, there is a right turn with a small bump. After that is another right turn to the final and longest bridge. Players should be careful to not fall into the water. The bridge splits in two for a bit then turns left, then left again. After that is a straightaway to the Finish Line.
Mario Kart Tour[]
Cheep Cheep Island returns in the Summer Tour. Most of the grass on the course has been removed, and the starting line now has a wooden banner with the classic Mario Kart logo on it. The second bridge on the course is also now straight instead of a zig-zag shape. The fourth, fifth, and sixth bridges have been removed in favor of having two large, grassy islands separated by a small stream with several large rocks close to where the fifth bridge was. The track itself in this area is now much narrower and no longer features Dash Panels or blocks. The three small islands and a section of the first large island now feature a rising and falling tide forming a newly added underwater section. The final bridge now starts off with a right turn into a longer straightaway before the split. Next to the first bridge, an underwater section is added, though it is located off-road. While the large Cheep Cheeps still appear, the Little Birdies and Sidesteppers have been replaced by jumping and flying Cheep Cheeps. Both shortcuts have also been removed.
Trivia![]
- Appearing in the track are pelicans. Hitting them causes them to fly away, and the purpose of them being there is not discovered yet.
