Chubby (チョロプ) is a Monty Mole who hides in the holes of Moo Moo Farm, both the N64 and DS versions. Occasionally, he'll pop out of his hiding spot and hit any racers who happen to be driving near his home, making them spin out.
Characteristics[]
Looking similar to other Monty Moles, Chubby is covered in brown and white fur and is quite... rotund. Both his hands and feet have sharp white claws to aid in digging. Because of his squinty black eyes, Chubby has to rely on his nose and whiskers to figure out which tunnel he's in.

Luigi is done with all of Chubby's nonsense...
Both Mario Kart 64 and Mario Kart DS feature Chubby in Moo Moo Farm. A tunnel system is spread out across three locations on the track, and this Monty Mole can travel to any one hole in a matter of seconds. Before attacking, Chubby will peek out the top of a hole, offering players a quick hint as to where he's hiding. And if they don't take a hint, Chubby will jump out of his hole, knocking anyone foolish enough to drive over his home into the air.
In Mario Kart DS, a Mission Mode challenge, 3-6, asks players to "Hit Monty Moles with shells 5 times!" The players uses Luigi to take out Chubby and his allies.
Trivia![]
- Although he is referenced in the Mario Kart 64 manual as a single mole, multiple Monty Moles can be seen popping out at the same time. Which doesn't make much sense...
- In Mario Kart DS, he is not named in the instruction booklet, so perhaps it is not Chubby on the retro remake.
