The Circuit Special is an unlockable kart body in Mario Kart 8 and a default kart body in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. It resembles a race car, which boosts Speed greatly in both games. It also appears in Mario Kart Tour.
Description[]
The Circuit Special has a resemblance similar to both a Le Mans Prototype racecar, and a Formula One or Formula Two car. Having both the fenders and lighting fictures of an LMP car, and the open rear wheels and narrow body of a Formula car.
The kart features a front pointed nose in between two front wheel holders which bear tiny headlights. On the sides is a platform that curves in front of the rear wheels, which are large compared to the front wheels. Behind the cockpit is a wide spoiler with round tips, which is located just above the engine block with two exhaust pipes connected to it. The character's emblem is located on the front of the body.
Depending on the color scheme, the sponsors on the Circuit Special vary. For example, the Blue Circuit Special uses the BBIA sponsorship.
The tail lights attached to the vehicle's foils light up whenever the player uses the kart in a night-based course.

Trivia![]
- The Circuit Special is possibly the successor of the Sprinter, further proving the modern style of Formula One racecars. The first was the B Dasher from Mario Kart DS, which resembles more of a Formula car from the 1960s.
- Since the Circuit Special has low traction on the road, it has poor performance on drifting. This is strange because normally LMP and Formula Cars have great traction on asphalt, but have poor grip on dirt and sand.
- The green varnish for the Circuit Special greatly resembles the green varnish for the Sport Bike. The kart also has the orange & yellow varish, which greatly resembles the same varnish for the Sport Bike.
- The Circuit Special can be unlocked by collecting an amount of 950 coins according to This Video.
