The coin shell is an upcoming item set to debut in Mario Kart World. It was initially briefly shown off in the Mario Kart World trailer during the Nintendo Switch 2 direct, before making some more appearances during the Treehouse events. The coin shell follows the track, leavng behind a trail of coins, before it eventually explodes with coins shooting once its timer runs out. It is currently unknown what would happen should the coin shell hit a player.

This item has never appeared in a Mario Kart game before, but will make an appearance in Mario Kart World.
Mario Kart World[]
The Coin Shell, which has a similar look to the Gold Shell but functions different travels along the middle of the track, leaving a trail of coins behind it for a set amount of time. It then explodes leaving multiple coins behind. It is currently unknown what effect the item has when it hits a racer in its path.
Trivia[]
- Though it bares a similar appearance to the Gold Shell from Mario Kart Arcade GP DX, the Coin Shell has a more metallic gold look to it, and has a completely different function to the Gold Shell.
