Dry Bowser in Mario Kart Wii

Dry Bowser is a skeletal form of his living counterpart, Bowser. Dry Bowser originally appeared as the World 8 "Normal" Boss in New Super Mario Bros.

Dry Bowser makes his first appearance as a playable character in Mario Kart Wii. He is a high-tier large type character and can be unlocked by:

  • Obtaining at least a one-star rank for the Wii 150cc cups.
  • Playing 4,350 combined races/battles.

His hair-style is slightly different from Bowser. In Mario Kart Wii, he is voiced by Kenny James, and his roar is more powerful than Bowser's.

He is set to reappear in a DLC pack for Mario Kart 8, available May 2015.

Other Appearances

Dry Bowser made his first appearance in the Nintendo DS game New Super Mario Bros. After a fight with Bowser at the end of World 1, Bowser would fall into a fiery lava pit that would transform his body into a mass of bones. Mario defeated Dry Bowser, and Bowser Jr. took the remains of the skeletal Koopa King and dropped them into a cauldron, which transformed Dry Bowser back to his normal self, only much larger. He also appears in Super Mario 3D Land, after beating the game and playing the special worlds, and New Super Mario Bros. 2, as the boss of World Star.
