The Giant Banana (also called the King Banana) is an item in Mario Kart: Double Dash!! and in Mario Kart Tour. In Double Dash, it's used as a Special item that Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong can obtain. It's at least twenty times bigger than the ordinary Banana Peel. If a driver makes contact with the Giant Banana Peel, it will explode, and in its wake will be three normal banana peels following the victim who will be sent spinning out of control for a brief period of time. The Giant Banana is somewhat unique to special items in that it is one of the few items that works best when the character is in first place. Petey Piranha and King Boo can also use this special item.

The Giant Banana is also resistant to most items, but it can be destroyed by a Bob-omb, Chain Chomp, Yoshi Egg, Birdo Egg, a Bowser Shell, or a player under the effects of a Bullet Bill or Starman.

Trivia!

• The Giant Banana has a frowny face unlike regular Bananas which have smiley faces. It also seems angry.
