A Glide Panel in Mario Kart 7.
A Glide Panel (also known as Fly Pad) is the equivalent of a Dash Panel, except the player doesn't get a speed boost from it, and it is blue instead of orange. Glide Panels first appear in Mario Kart 7. Glide Panels always appear at the edge of a ramp, while Boost Pads can also be flat on the ground. At the end of a Glide Panel, a player's glider will be activated. Tricks can also be performed on a Glide Panel, but here the player will get the boost after they leave the Glide Panel, rather than when landing on the ground. They also appear in Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe with the same role as Mario Kart 7.
Trivia![]
- They have replaced all of the half-pipe ramps for Mario Kart 7 and Mario Kart 8.
- On Mushroom Gorge for 7, 8 Deluxe & Tour, there is a glider "mushroom" that functions the same as a Glide Panel, except it adds the mushroom bounce effect prior to activating the glider.
- The two on Twisted Mansion use the arrow texture from Dash Panels.
