The Gold Glider is an unlockable glider in Mario Kart 7, Mario Kart 8, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
In both of the games, it offers no stats, meaning it gives no effect to the driver's performance. Its stats are identical with the Super Glider, Wario Wing, Waddle Wing, Plane Glider, and Paper Glider.
History[]
Mario Kart 7[]

The Gold Glider as seen in Mario Kart 7.
The Gold Glider made its first appearance in Mario Kart 7. It highly resembles the Super Glider, except that the Gold Glider has a golden color. To get it, one has to get 100 friends connected on StreetPass, or collect 10,000 coins.
Mario Kart 8[]
It returns in Mario Kart 8. Instead of being entirely gold, it is now black with a gold ring and a number eight on top. Like its predecessor, it is unlocked by collecting 10,000 coins, and it does not offer any stat boosts.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe[]
The glider is identical in appearance and stats as it was in Mario Kart 8, however, the requirement now is that you only collect 5,000 coins. Once you do, a message will not pop up like usual saying that you've collected enough coins for a new vehicle part. Instead, one will have to navigate to the menu that lets you customize your kart, and see that a new part (the glider) is available.
