The Ice Flower is a power-up item in the Mario games, being similar to the Fire Flower, but with ice instead of fire. In this case, it allows Mario and become Ice Mario and be able to throw ice balls, which freeze enemies solid.
The Ice Flower makes an appearance in the Mario Kart series as an item in Mario Kart Tour, being a Special Skill to some racers who debuted in this game since the Ice Tour. This item has a similar effect of the power-up, but frozen racers only lose control of their kart.
Usage[]
The Ice Flower is a Special Skill exclusive to some racers, and is usually obtained from an Item Box when these racers aren't in first place. When the Ice Flower is obtained and can be used, three ice balls rotate the racer's kart, which can be thrown across the track just like the Fire Flower. Unlike, the Fire Flower, racers that get hit by them to happen to touch them from the racer's kart will temporarily freeze, but instead of freezing and coming to a complete stop like in the Mario games, the affected racers will still move but they have no control of their kart, occasionally spinning around while it happens to auto-pilot the track. As the freeze effect wears off, the racers will automatically align to a direction so that they can traverse the rest of the track safely.
The Ice Flower+ is the upgraded version of the Ice Flower. This variant adds an extra ice ball to throw, allowing the user to throw four in total.
When a racer gets an Ice Flower Frenzy, more ice balls rotate the racer's kart, and ice balls can be thrown an unlimited number of times until the frenzy ends.
