Kamek is a Magikoopa that is the main enemy of Yoshi's Island. He usually teams up with Baby Bowser and steals things from Yoshi and his allies. He adopted Bowser as a young child and brought him up.

Mario Kart 64[]
He was originally planned for Mario Kart 64 (or Super Mario Kart R in the working title), but was replaced by Donkey Kong.
Mario Kart 8 & Mario Kart 8 Deluxe[]
His emblem was also found in the Mario Kart 8 files meaning he was yet again planned for Mario Kart. He was however scrapped yet again.
Eventually, Kamek made his home console debut in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe in Wave 5 of the Booster Course Pass DLC alongside Petey Piranha and Wiggler. He is in the medium weight class. Kamek will even perform magic during his trick animations and his horn sound is a callback to his dialogue from Yoshi’s Island.
Mario Kart Tour[]
He was finally added as a playable character in the Kamek Tour in Mario Kart Tour.
