Koopa Beach 1 is the first track in the Star Cup in Super Mario Kart. This track makes a retro appearance in Mario Kart: Super Circuit as the third track of the Lightning Cup.
This is the first Koopa Beach course, while the other is Koopa Beach 2. This is a very short beach course featuring small sand islands surrounded by a lot of the sea with Cheep Cheeps as obstacles.
Layout[]
Super Mario Kart[]
Water largely surrounds the stage. Cheep Cheeps make their first Mario Kart appearance in this course as hazards that can make a racer spin out and lose coins. They bounce in the water and sometimes in the sand. The shallow water will provide a slight decrease in speed, but not much. If a player stays in the deep water too long, Lakitu will have to fish them back on to the beach. One island near the end provides a fork in the road due to grass in the middle. This course has not appeared in a recent Mario Kart game yet.
This course is, despite its place in Star Cup, relatively easy, and can be powerslided through from B to Z, There's a shortcut in the first 1/3 of the track, with a small detached island providing an item box and a nice seconds gain, allowing for easy, great times. It's effortless to win this track, which offers a nice bonus knowing what lies ahead. This track is also tied with Mario Circuit 1 being the shortest tracks in the game.
Mario Kart: Super Circuit[]
This course reappears in Mario Kart: Super Circuit as the third course in the Extra Lightning Cup. The backdrop is switched to the one from Shy Guy Beach to fit the beach theme, and the Cheep Cheeps were removed.
