Mario Circuit is the third track of the Star Cup on Mario Kart DS. This is the sixth Mario Circuit in the Mario Kart series, and takes place near Peach Castle grounds. This rendition of Mario Circuit makes a return in the 2023 Mario Tour in Mario Kart Tour, and later reappears again in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe as part of Wave 4 of the Booster Course Pass DLC, as the second course in the Boomerang Cup.
Layout[]
Mario Kart DS[]
The starting line is just to the right of a crowd of Mario Kart fans and then takes a quick right turn, onto the section of track bordering the lake. This part slowly rises and has 3 Goombas patrolling the track. After this, a right turn leads to a sandy plain where two huge Venus Fire Traps that spit out Fireballs are. Still, they are inaccurate, so there isn't much to worry about. After this comes a pipe tunnel followed by a sharp left turn. This leads into a sandy road, and after another left turn, it gets windy, with smaller Piranha Plants dotting the edges. At this part, Peach's Castle can be seen to the right, surrounded by the lake from earlier. The road reverts to the pavement, and after two massive left and right turns, the finish line appears.
Mario Kart Tour[]
Mario Circuit makes its first reappearance in Mario Kart Tour as part of the 2023 Mario Tour. While the layout remains faithful to the original, it has received an extensive aesthetic overhaul, featuring an all new forest section after the pipe tunnel. The starting banner has been changed to now feature the modern Mario Kart logo instead of the old, and also now seemingly features the top of Mario's cap as part of the design. The mote around Peach's Castle has been noticeably reduced in size, along with Peach's Castle itself featuring a different design from the one seen in the original course. Once in the newly added forest section, the main road extends further and ends in a ramp after the sharp left turn toward the castle. The track continues as normal until you get to the double hairpin turn section, where elevation has now been added.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe[]

Mario Circuit as it appears in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
Not even a day after its reappearance in Mario Kart Tour, this course returns yet again in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe as part of Wave 4 of the Booster Course Pass DLC, and is presented as the second race of the Boomerang Cup. It is heavily inspired off Tour's makeover of the course, though the graphics have been improved even further, the music arrangement has a new electronic-rock synth to it, and now includes a Wiggler in the forest section, which wakes up on the third lap to cause havoc by running down the track.
Mission Mode[]
- Mission 5-8 features Luigi having to beat Mario to the finish, with added Piranha Plants.
- Mission 7-4 challenges Toad to hit 30 Goombas with Green Shells/Triple Green Shells.

Trivia![]
- Figure-8 Circuit has the same music as Mario Circuit, so it can be implied that this course is the sequel to it.
- This is the only Mario Circuit course that is not in the Flower Cup (other than Mario Circuit 1, Mario Circuit 2, and Mario Circuit 4 from Super Mario Kart)
- The first retro track that is not from Mario Kart: Super Circuit in Mario Kart Tour to feature a new arrangement of the music.
- The shortest time in between versions of a track is held by this course, with the Tour and 8 Deluxe versions of the track releasing within hours of each other.
- This course was originally supposed to come as the third course of the Fruit Cup (as evidenced by it being labeled in the files as "Cnsw_43").
