The Mushmellow is a kart in the Mario Kart (series) that debuted in Mario Kart DS as Toad's primary kart. The name is a portmanteau of the words "mushroom" and "marshmallow", including the word "mellow."
Description[]
The Mushmellow takes the design of a Mushroom, with dark gray, silver and burgundy exhaust pipes. This kart is usually equipped with small tires.
History[]
Mario Kart DS[]
Toad on his Mushmellow.
The Mushmellow first appeared in Mario Kart DS, where it is one of Toad's karts in the game. It is one of the 16 karts that is available from the start.
Toad's Mushmellow has a very high acceleration stat, high handling and drift stats, and below-average stats in other areas. It also has the 6th longest Mini-Turbo in the game.
Due to its long mini-turbo as well as its solid cornering stats, the Mushmellow is a good choice all-around for normal gameplay, and is a particularly beginner-friendly vehicle. It's surprisingly adept at snaking, and can even theoretically maintain Prolonged Rocket Boost in the hands of skilled players. In competitive Time Trials, however, the Mushmellow very rarely sees use, if ever. This is because it is outclassed by the Egg 1 in every area except for drift; the Mushmellow's high drift can even be seen as a disadvantage as it makes lining mini-turbos on straightaways more difficult.
During gameplay, only Toad can use this kart. However, if the player manages to complete all Nitro or Retro Grand Prix cups, Yoshi and Dry Bones can use this kart once each character gets to pick from seven different karts. To let any other character use it, complete all cups in Mirror Mode.
Statistics[]
The Mushmellow's strengths are its Drift, its Handling, and especially it's Acceleration. Its weaknesses are it's Speed, it's Items (Stat), and especially it's Weight.
Mario Kart Tour[]

After nearly 14 years of absence, the Mushmellow returns in Mario Kart Tour. The Mushmellow uses the Pipe Frame's tires. This kart became available in the London Tour, classified as a Normal kart. When used, this kart increases the duration of performing Tricks and the points earned for doing them.
Pink Mushmellow[]
First introduced in the Paris Tour, the Pink Mushmellow is a pink color variation of the Mushmellow, which is classified as a Normal kart.

Cheermellow[]
Introduced in the 2019 Winter Tour, the Cheermellow is a Christmas-themed variation of the Mushmellow, which is classified as a High-End kart.
