The Mushroom Hammer(キノコハンマー) is a large mushroom-studded hammer that Toad can exclusively use in Mario Kart Arcade GP and its successor. A combination between an ordinary Hammer Item and turbo-boosting Mushrooms, this Special Item when wielded can do massive damage when it's on the track.
To gain this Item, Toad will first need to win a few Grand Prixes (in no specific order).

Toad can receive one of these here Mushroom Hammers once he breaks through an Item Hexagon. To activate the weapon, all that's needed is one press of the item button. Toad will start driving frantically and will swing the shroom hammer rapidly. Anyone caught in the way of the Mushroom Hammer is very unlucky, as this weak-looking Item is actually very hard-hitting. The best place to use it is in areas of the race track that are closely packed.
Protection[]
Aside from staying away from Toad whenever a Mushroom Hammer is in his hand, the only methods of saving yourself are invincibility Items such as the Starman or maybe even a Shield. Most of the Items thrown at Toad to try and stop him will simply be knocked away... and will only make him for hungry for revenge... and shrooms.
Trivia![]
- A regular Basic Item, the Thunder Stick, is used very similarly in that the player lashes out with it in an unrelenting fashion.
- Some more of Toad's Special Items include other Mushroom-inspired weapons, including the Poison Mushroom, the Miracle Mushroom, and some Mushroom Powder.
