The Nintendo Switch 2, otherwise known simply as Switch 2, is a Hybrid Video Game Console developed and distributed by Nintendo, and was released worldwide on June 5th, 2025. It’s Nintendo's tenth generation home console, and a direct successor to the Nintendo Switch system; and is backwards compatible with most Nintendo Switch games.
A brand new home console Mario Kart game called Mario Kart World was released as a launch title for the system, being the first fully new mainline console Mario Kart since the release of Mario Kart 8 for the Wii U over 11 years previous.

Nintendo Switch 2 aims to expand upon the original Switch and add new interactive features such as voice chat and mouse controls for Joy-Con 2 controllers. Along with it comes a new webcam accessory, and is to be implemented within voice chat and select games. It boasts a storage of 256 GB, supports 4k resolution when docked, is capable of producing HDR visuals, and can have a refresh rate of up to 120 fps.
