The Royale (ピアレス Piaresu) is a kart appearing in the Mario Kart (series).
Description[]
The kart is based of a Bugatti Royale, toned hot pink, and the decals on the kart are heart-shaped. The emblem is located on both sides of the kart, and is the successor to Princess Peach's Heart Coach from Mario Kart: Double Dash!!.
History[]
Mario Kart DS[]

Peach in her Royale on the Select Kart screen on Mario Kart DS.
The Royale debuted in Mario Kart DS, and is one of Peach's karts, with her standard kart being the Standard PC, and her other unlockable kart being the Light Tripper. This kart is one of the 16 karts in the game that is available from the start.
During gameplay, only Peach can use the Royale. However, if the player can complete all Nitro or Retro Grand Prix cups in the 150cc engine class, the kart becomes open to Yoshi and Toad when every racer can pick between seven different karts. To let any other character use it, complete all cups in Mirror Mode.
Peach's Royale has fairly low top speed and handling, but above-average acceleration and extremely high drift. Being Peach's large kart in this game, it has a maxed out items stat and is much heavier than her other karts; in fact, it is the 4th heaviest kart in the game by base weight. In fact, this and Toad's 4-Wheel Cradle kart are the heaviest karts within the lightweight class, and they are even heavier than Mario's B Dasher and Luigi's Streamliner, both of which are mediumweight karts.
The Royale is often only seen at the beginning of a normal playthrough while a player is learning the game, due to its status as a default kart that is relatively simple to use. Due to its exceptionally high drift, it performs well on courses with very sharp turns such as GCN Baby Park, when the player would not know how to round those corners with other karts.
However, once players pass the beginner level, the Royale is never seen in serious play. It struggles to maintain its already low top speed due to its short Mini-Turbos as well as a combination of poor handling and high drift, which makes snaking on straightaways incredibly difficult. It is often considered among the worst karts in the game overall due to how difficult it is to drive at a high level for very little reward.
The Royale shares its acceleration with Mario's B Dasher, and it shares its handling with Wario's Dragonfly. When this kart is used by Peach, its weight total adds to 67, which is shared with Wario's Brute (when used with Wario) and Waluigi's Standard WL (when used with Waluigi).
The Royale, alongside Dry Bones' Banisher, have the highest calculated stats of any kart in the game, with a total of 393. However, by combining Peach's weight (which is 23), it will add up to 416, making the total the largest if the player were to stick with the character's own personal karts. By adding Bowser or R.O.B. to either the Royale or Banisher will add up the combined total to 443 (with an additional 50 due to Bowser and R.O.B.'s weights).

Mario Kart Tour[]
The Royale reappears in Mario Kart Tour, after almost 14 years of the Royale's absence since DS, and here, it is classified as a Super kart. It is equipped with the Standard tires from Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. However, in the game's trailers, it was equipped with the Slick tires from those two games. The Royale extends slipstreams and awards additional points for performing one.
The Royale is available from the Shop's pipes, and is also a part of the Daily Selects. The Royale can also be obtained through other means throughout Mario Kart Tours history. In the London Tour, it can be obtained via Tour Gift, but requires 120 Grand Stars and a Gold Pass. Or, through the Peach Tour, it can be obtained via the Classic Car Pipe.
White Royale[]

Mario Kart Tour introduces a color variant of the Royale, called the White Royale (ホワイトピアレス Howaito Piaresu), which is basically a white variant of the Royale, though it is more tan-colored. Unlike the Royale however, it is equipped with the Rickshaw's tires. While it is classified as a Super kart like the Royale, it increases the speed boosts and points resulted from Rocket Starts instead.
The White Royale is not currently available in Tour Pipes, nor is it a part of the Daily Selects set. It is unknown when the White Royale will ever be available via those options or more. In the Paris Tour, it could be obtained via Tour gift, but requires 120 Grand Stars and a Gold Pass. In the Trick Tour it could also be obtained via Tour gift, and just requires 120 Grand Stars, and in the Peach Tour it can just be obtained via the Classic Car Pipe.

Blue Royale[]
Mario Kart Tour introduces another color variant of the Royale, called the Blue Royale (ブルーピアレス/Burū Piaresu in Japenese), a blue variant of the Royale. This variant uses the Jingle Bells tires. The Blue Royale increases the duration of a Jump Boost and it also gives more points during Jump Boosts. This is a Super tier kart.
