Sequels are more complex versions of a course. The sequel and the prequel have the same music, and have a similar layout, obviously because of the complexity and difficulty. Normally, a shortcut in a prequel will appear similarly in the sequel. An example is Boo Lake and Broken Pier. Boo Lake has a barely glowing bridge and another bridge that's clearly visible and shaves about a second, and Broken Pier has two barely glowing bridges and another bridge that shaves off a little more than a second, and because Broken Pier is more difficult and complex, the bridges are longer and narrower.
