Were you looking for the kart in Mario Kart DS?

The Shooting Star (known as the Twinkle Star in the PAL and Japanese versions), is a large bike that appears in Mario Kart Wii as Rosalina's signature vehicle. It has a star on the front, a comet trail on its sides and exhaust pipes, and a gray wing on the handle bars. The Shooting Star's kart counterpart is the Honeycoupe.

Statistics[]

The Shooting Star has decent speed. It also has the best drift and mini-turbo among all the large vehicles and is the best outward-drifting bike in the game according to many. However this vehicle has low acceleration and off-road, below average handling, (all three are the worst among the outward drifting bikes), and it is the lightest large vehicle in the game. In this regard, this bike is good for intermediate players of Mario Kart Wii who want an outside drifting bike, although it's recommended for experts (who rely more on inside drift) to ditch this bike for the Flame Runner and the Spear

Trivia![]

  • Wario used this bike in the first May 2008 competition.
  • The Shooting Star is one of the seven vehicles to go through a design change other than a palette-swap, the others being the Booster Seat, Bit Bike, Flame Runner, Wario Bike, Spear, and Phantom. In this case, the star on the side of Rosalina's Shooting Star is larger than on the other Shooting Stars. Also, hers does not have a foot rest, as the others do.
    • In a similar manner, Bowser's and Dry Bowser's Shooting Stars have their handles positioned lower than the other Shooting Stars.
  • The Shooting Star is the fastest outside drift bike.
  • Wario, Funky Kong, Dry Bowser and King Boo's star and stripe colors on the front and side of their Shooting Stars are orange, red and white rather than the usual yellow on the other ones, respectively. In a similar matter, Wario and Waluigi's Shooting Star's eyes are pink and purple rather than the usual orange, respectively. This is due to all of their achromatic color schemes.
  • This, Wario Bike, and Phantom are the only bikes in Mario Kart Wii where characters don't flail their legs when going through a cannon.
  • This is the only outward-drifting bike to have low acceleration and off-road, in addition to below average handling.
