Sky-High Sundae is Under Construction
This article is under construction. Please excuse its informal appearance while it is being worked on. We hope to have it completed as soon as possible!
Sky-High Sundae is the last course of the Propeller Cup in the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass DLC. This track broke the tradition of there only being retro courses in the DLC, as this is the first "new" course added to the pass. This course was added to Mario Kart Tour in the Sundae Tour a week later. Unlike most other courses, this course in considered a "new" course in both games. It made it's first "retro" return in Mario Kart World as the 3rd course of the Star Cup.
Layout[]
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe[]
This course takes place above the clouds in a world full of frozen treats, hence the name. The course is entirely in anti-gravity, with floaty physics similar to Big Blue. It begins inside an enormous pink refrigerator, where spectators are watching the race from what seems to be some sort of café. You proceed to launch right off a glider ramp and toward a Heli-pad made of chocolate. There is also a giant ice cream cone, with a hole where you are able to get extra item boxes from the start.
View of the many ice cream shops.
After landing on the Heli-pad, you will head down some stairs with railings that act as Spin boost pillars. Interestingly, you are able to drive straight through them. You then come across a public market with many small businesses competing to sell ice cream, all the while you drive up another set of stairs. Then, you jump off a ramp where the pathways split into two directions. This leads to a section with multiple sets of smores that act as small platforms. The split pathways eventually reunite into one where you enter into a U-turn with multiple slightly-melted ice cream cones creating the path. Afterwards, you have to trick your way through three blocks of floating ice cubes and onto the tray from which they were presumably ejected from. Finally, you enter back inside the refrigerator where you repeat the course for another two laps.
Mario Kart Tour[]
Sky-High Sundae was later released on Mario Kart Tour, less than a week after it was added to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. The course is the same for the most part, other than the lowered texture quality and there being no anti-gravity, nor any floaty physics
Mario Kart World[]
Sky-High Sundae multi-player gameplay in Mario Kart World.
In Mario Kart World, Sky-High Sundae makes a return as a remastered retro track in the Star Cup. Set in a vibrant, dessert-themed world high in the sky, the course features anti-gravity sections, sharp turns, and sweet-themed obstacles. Its colorful design and dynamic layout have made it a recurring favorite in the Mario Kart series. The railings on the first corner now allow the player to rail-grind on them.
A new path has been added to the split, and the ice cube trays at the end have been replaced with yellow mesh roads. Another new route has been added near the gap at the beginning.Geographically, the course is located slightly north of Wario Shipyard on the far east of the game's map, located on top of a rainbow-colored island.
Shortcuts[]
- There is a 200cc shortcut where you are able to cut a slight part of the ice cream U-turn section, by using a mushroom you could float to the first or second ice block, thereby cutting a small portion of the turn.✱ for MK8

Trivia![]
- This course, Mute City, GCN Baby Park, Big Blue, and Wii Rainbow Road all take place entirely in anti-gravity.
- Some fans believe that this track was originally created for Mario Kart World but was added to the Booster Course Pass instead when World was internally delayed to the Switch 2, citing the awkward implementation of the "spin-boost railings" in 8 Deluxe compared to the rail-grinding mechanic in World.
- The Mario Kart World remake, carries the same theme music as both the orignial, and Tour versions of the track.
