Mario Kart 8/Mario Kart 8 Deluxe[]
They return in Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, having a different appearance from the previous installment. Major changes on the design of the wheels are made; they are now black with a red star-shaped disk, instead of black with a red and silver center, like in Mario Kart 7.
CPU players tend to only use these tires whenever they're using the Standard Bike. However, a CPU-controlled Luigi will also use these tires alongside the Mach 8. Likewise, a CPU-controlled Mario will use these tires whenever he's using the Comet.
A variant of the Slim, called the Crimson Slim, also appears in Mario Kart 8, where they share the same stats.
