Snowmen are hazards in various snow courses in the Mario Kart games. Snowmen are seen in various snow courses and knock over racers who run into them. Running into a Snowman (or hitting it with an Item) will also cause it to dissipate but it will rerise from the ground after a few seconds. Looks like Dry Bones isn't the only one who can resurrect himself.
Snowmen are first seen in Frappe Snowland of Mario Kart 64 where they are gathered all around the giant ice statue. Running into a Snowman will send you flying into the air so watch out.
Snowmen also appear in DK Pass of Mario Kart DS. Here, they are mostly seen near the track's end around the last corner. They also appear in the game's remake of Frappe Snowland.
Snowmen appear again in Mario Kart 7 in the game's remake of DK Pass. Snowmen also make their first appearance on a battle course in Sherbet Rink. In the battle course however, they are less plentiful.
A different kind of Snowman called a Snowboy is seen in Animal Crossing of Mario Kart 8/Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Unlike the regular Snowmen, these guys won't knock you back. The regular Snowmen are also seen in the games' remake of Sherbet Land as obstacles on the sides of the track.
Trivia![]
- Although they look similar, these Snowmen are not to be confused with Mr. Blizzards or Dr. Freezegoods (other Snowmen found in the Mario series).
