The Standard Bike is a type of bike introduced in Mario Kart Wii and a bike available from the start in Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. It is seen as a counterpart to the Standard Kart as it is balanced in stats.
In Mario Kart Wii, there are 3 variants, the Standard Bike S, Standard Bike M, and Standard Bike L all have the same design. Like the Standard Kart however, they are open to only one weight class each- Light, Medium, and Heavy respectively.
In Mario Kart Wii, the Standard Kart S offers a boost in acceleration, handling, drift, and mini-turbo, while a decrease in weight. The Standard Kart M gives an advantage in handling and drift, while the Standard Kart L offers good speed and weight.
In Mario Kart 8, it offers good acceleration and handling, but bad weight and traction. Its stats are identical to the Pipe Frame, Wild Wiggler, Flame Rider, Varmint, W 25 Silver Arrow, and City Tripper.
History[]
Mario Kart Wii[]
The Standard Bike made its first appearance in Mario Kart Wii. Each weight class has their own Standard Bike, being named Standard Bike S for lightweights, Standard Bike M for middleweights and Standard Bike L for heavyweights. Lightweights have better handling and acceleration while heavyweights have higher top speed and weight.
All Standard Bikes perform outward drifts, unlike most other bikes.
Mario Kart 8[]
It returns in Mario Kart 8 with a different appearance than Mario Kart Wii. The Standard Bike alters stats slightly, raising the acceleration and handling stats, while lowering weight and traction.
CPU players who use the Standard Bike will pair it with either the Standard tires, the Slim tires, or the Monster tires, with the Monster tires more likely to be used by the heavyweight characters.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[]
[1]In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the Standard Bike can be used as a support spirit in battles. The picture used for this spirit is Waluigi riding the bike and popping a wheelie. The spirit is a part of the novice category which is the most common category used for spirit classification. It only takes up one slot in your party which is also very common. When equipping the spirit, the power you gain is undamaged speed, which means that if you haven't taken any damage, you'll get a small speed boost.
[1]You can earn this spirit by battling for it on the Spirit Board, or you can purchase it for 500G (gold) in the Vault Shop. The spirits number in the Spirit List is #87.
