The Standard YS is a kart for Yoshi in Mario Kart DS. It is one of Yoshi's three karts in this game, the others being the Egg 1 and the Cucumber.

The Standard YS is a light green kart, matching Yoshi's skin color with the standard kart frame. By default, it has a Yoshi Egg emblem on the front.
Statistics[]
With above-average speed, great acceleration, extremely good handling, and long Mini-Turbo length (the 5th best in the game), the Standard YS is considered to be one of the best standard karts in the game. This kart is ideal for snaking, and is usually used as an alternative to the Egg 1 to set fast lap records with its access to two Mushrooms. Its use diminishes at top-level, however, in favor of the Standard RB, which is significantly faster and thus more suited to the riskier strategies that fast laps employ for maximum time save.
