Trash Can is Under Construction

The Trash Can (ごみ箱), also called the Bin in other games, is an throw-able, unlockable Prize Item found in only one Mario Kart game, Mario Kart Arcade GP. Introduced from the Donkey Kong series, this garbage bin can be tossed at other racers to slow them down.

Once the Trash Can has been obtained from an Item Box, a player can target in another racer up ahead of them and then press the Item button to let it fly. The Bin (which, since we have no in-game pictures, looks like small blue, red and green fruit bins tied together) flies toward the opponent, and once they get hit, their Kart slows down a bit.
Protection[]
To protect against the Trash Can, it's best to just stay far ahead of any racers whatsoever. Usually though, the competition doesn't suck that much, so an invincibility Item such as a Starman or Shield can block these. An Item that can be placed behind a Kart will not do the trick because these are airborne.
