In this post, I will be talking about the Spear. This is the fastest bike in Mario Kart Wii, and while it is a good vehicle, it's nowhere near top tier. So, what's the problem with the Spear? The Spear has one of the lowest drift stats in the game, and it really suffers from it. It bothers me a lot. It was so close to being the best vehicle in the game, but the drift stat keeps it back, so that's what I'm going to change.

Drift[]

Reactivity[]

The Spear has a drift reactivity of 0.82, which is one reason why the Spear suffers. I wans going to increase its drift reactivity to 0.97, which is the Quacker's drift reactivity, but that would make it too overpowered. I propose increasing its drift reactivity to 0.86, which is the Offroader's drift reactivity, to keep its low drift reactivity while still making it viable.

Tightness[]

The Spear's drift tightness is 0.0108 on manual and 0.0092 on automatic. This is the other reason why the Spear struggles so much, so I would increase its manual drifting tightness to 0.0125 and its automatic drifting tightness to 0.014. I was thinking about changing its drifting tightness to that of the Wild Wing, but again, it would be at least as overpowered as the Flame Runner, if not more overpowered than said vehicle, with that high of a drift tightness stat, especially with inside drift. Like I said with the drift reactivity, this is meant to keep the Spear's low drifting tightness while still making it viable.

Conclusion[]

This has been my post that covers making the Spear more viable. I hope these changes will help the Spear live up to its fullest potential.
