Why My Original Top 10 BEST and WORST Mario Kart Items Lists Sucked

In this blog post, I explain why my original Top 10 BEST and WORST Mario Kart Items lists sucked.

  • 1 Why They Sucked
    • 1.1 Overall
    • 1.2 Top 10 WORST Mario Kart Items List
    • 1.3 Top 10 BEST Mario Kart Items List
  • 2 The Only Redeeming Quality

  1. I had poor reasonings for including certain items.
  2. I didn't have that many brain cells in 2018.

  1. I included the Mega Mushroom, Feather, Yoshi Egg, Golden Mushroom, Lightning, and Boo on the list.
  2. I put the Spiny Shell way too high on the list.
  3. I left objectively worse items out.
    1. First off, I didn't include the Green Shell, Fireball, Super Horn, or Super Leaf at all.
    2. I also didn't include the Fake Item Box, which is objectively worse than the Banana and Bob-omb for the following reasons. First off, it doesn't block incoming item…

Hammer The Supporter Episode 9: Coin

Welcome to the ninth episode of Hammer The Supporter. In this episode, I will cover the Coin. This item is seen as the most useless item in Mario Kart, and while I think it's not as bad as the Thunder Cloud (which I found hidden gems for in the very first episode), I can definitely agree with this statement. It doesn't protect you from items, nor does it let you attack other players. Despite those points, the Coin still has some pros. Remember what I said in the first episode? I said that while an item can be overall terrible, there's always a brighter side to everything. With that said, let's recap its pros.

  • 1 Pros
    • 1.1 It Increases Your Speed
    • 1.2 You Can Unlock Kart Parts
  • 2 Conclusion

You probably won't notice this, but collecting Coins increases …

Hammer The Supporter Episode 8: Green Shell

Welcome to the eighth episode of Hammer The Supporter. In this episode, I will cover the Green Shell. Like the Banana, this item has appeared in every single Mario Kart game. This is seen as the most useless shell color, as it travels in a straight line and usually doesn't hit opponents. While I do agree that it's not as useful as the other shells, we can find some positivity somewhere inside that plastron.

  • 1 Pros
    • 1.1 It Can Block Items
    • 1.2 It Also Comes in a Triple Variant
    • 1.3 You Can Snipe Other Players
    • 1.4 It Travels Faster in Mario Kart 8
  • 2 Conclusion

Like the Banana, the Green Shell can be used to block incoming items.

While we have the average everyday Single Green Shell, we also have the Triple Green Shell, which can protect you and allow you to …

Hammer The Supporter Episode 7: Banana

Welcome to the seventh episode of Hammer The Supporter. In this episode, I will cover the Banana. This is one of six items that has consistently appeared in every Mario Kart game. Many people believe that this item is the least effective item in Mario Kart. While that's true, there's more to the Banana than just blocking items.

  • 1 Pros
    • 1.1 It Also Comes In Triple, Quintuple, and Giant Variants
    • 1.2 It Can Be Used on Bridges
    • 1.3 It Can Block Items
  • 2 Conclusion

While we have the everyday single Banana, we also have the Triple Banana, Banana Bunch (or Quintuple Banana), and Giant Banana. The Triple Banana and Banana Bunch provide three and five Bananas respectively, which allows you to block multiple items. The Giant Banana splits into three smaller Banan…

Hammer The Supporter Episode 6: Mini Mushroom

Welcome to the sixth episode of Hammer The Supporter. In this episode, I will cover a power-up introduced in New Super Mario Bros. for the DS called the Mini Mushroom. Many people find this power-up to be somewhat useless. I can see why they believe this is the case. You can get killed in one hit, and you have to ground pound in order to kill enemies. Despite this, the Mini Mushroom isn't really that bad, and it has a bright side, just like the Mario Kart items I covered previously.

  • 1 Pros
    • 1.1 You Can Run on Water
    • 1.2 You Can Jump Higher
    • 1.3 You Can Find Secret Areas
    • 1.4 You Can Create Unique Challenges
  • 2 Conclusion

Admittedly, the biggest upside of this power-up is the fact that you can run on water. This allows you to skip entire portions of water le…
