A Venus Fire Trap spitting 2 fireballs at an unsuspecting target!
A Venus Fire Trap is a Piranha Plant that can spit fireballs. First appearing in Super Mario Bros. 3, they have always been known for their fiery tempers and constant need to burn anyone walking by. They have appeared in various Mario series 2D Platformers as well. Super Mario 3D Land also has Piranha Plants that spit fire but those are Fire Piranha Plants, not Venus Fire Traps.
In Mario Kart, Venus Fire Traps have only appeared in Mario Kart DS's Mario Circuit. Two are seen near the first tunnel spitting fireballs (inaccurately) onto the track. The Fireballs spin out anyone foolish enough to run into them. Due to being on the Pipes, the Venus Fire Traps cannot be targeted or stunned like a standard Piranha Plant. The Venus Fire Traps return in Mario Kart Tour and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe in the returning DS Mario Circuit. They can also spit more fireballs in these games. They also rock to the electronic sounds of the music.
