The Zucchini (Gherkin in PAL regions) is an unlockable kart body in Mario Kart 7. It resembles an old F1 car that has a strong speed boost at the expense of some acceleration and handling. It also appears in Mario Kart Tour.
Description[]
The Zucchini resembles an F1 car from a long time ago. It has a green body, with a narrow front nose that has a grille in it with a yellow outline. There is a short windshield behind the grille, and at the rear is a port with four exhaust pipes sticking out on top.
It resembles the B Dasher from Mario Kart DS, but is comparatively shorter, is green instead of light gray, and its exhaust pipes are smaller.
How to unlock[]
- Collect as many coins as you can and hope you get lucky.
- Purchase from the Daily Selects for 2,000 coins if it appears.
- Or obtain it from the Pipe.

This is the Zucchini's first appearance in a Mario Kart game. It increases Speed strongly, tying with the B Dasher, the Bruiser and the Blue Seven for the fastest kart bodies in the game. However, it slightly hinders some Acceleration and Handling.

Mario Kart Tour[]
The Zucchini is one of the returning karts to appear in this game. It is classified as a Super Kart, with its Special Skill being Mini-Turbo Plus, which increases the length of and the points earnt from Mini-Turbos. It is equipped with the Pipe Frame's tires.
As of the 2023 Summer Tour, the Zucchini received another variant known as the Spicy Zucchini, which has Dash Panel Plus instead, which increases the length of and the points earnt from Dash Panel boosts.

- This kart strongly resembles the Lotus 43 that was driven by famous Formula 1 Driver Jim Clark.
- It's one of the few Mario Kart Vehicles (in Mario Kart History) to resemble A Formula 1 Car, others being the Cucumber, the B-Dasher from Mario Kart DS, the Sprinter and Classic Dragster from Mario Kart Wii, and the Circuit Special from Mario Kart 8.
